Real Time Update ~ May 7, 2026

Greetings from Jack’s Bay, a quiet little anchorage in the Exumas, Bahamas. We’ve had quite a whirlwind couple years, having sold our house May of 2024, leaving our community of 20+ years, moving onto our boat October 2024, spending February-May 2025 in the Bahamas, leaving the boat in Maryland July 2025 so we could get a land break, and discovering we had sustained a lightning strike while the boat was on the hard. It was then a long journey hand steering down the East Coast of the US so we could get repairs done, months of Just Catamarans unraveling the mystery that is lightning damage, and finally getting back to boat life. We had some “schedules” to follow in order to meet up with boat friends here and there as well a special visitor who flew to Nassau the end of April, and now we’re sort of staying put for a little while.

And with that, I decided it was time to start working on this site again!

My goal is to work on current goings-on, but I also want to post passages/photos/sailing log/etc. from 2024 & 2025 as well. I haven’t quite pieced it together in my mind, and I’m still playing around with the layout of this specific website (it’s the same, but also a little different from our private, family blog, but NOT doing anything with it isn’t the progress I’d like to make.

For now…here are a few photos from Jack’s Bay (to share and to test out how the photos look on the site).
